The Lov 2, a recent addition to the collection, is a pop-out pistol that was manufactured by Lověna-Družstvo in Prague. Precise manufacturing dates are not known but may have been from 1960 until at least 2001. Certainly, it is known that they were imported, rebranded and sold, for a very short period, by Webley and Scott as the Webley GnAT. They must have been desperate!
The Lov 2 is smoothbore .177 calibre and was available in two variants: metal and plastic. The earlier metal variant is clearly distinguishable from the later plastic variant by its blued metal cylinder and trigger guard. On the other hand, the plastic variant is entirely plastic apart from the barrel and piston assembly. This particular example is the later plastic variant. Those that were imported by Webley were sold in a Webley box which is very rare to find today.
It appears that Lověna-Družstv no longer manufactures airguns but instead produce springs. Perhaps they might be a good source of replacement springs for vintage airguns…
Until next time, happy shooting!
